Job Summary:

Owl is hiring for a director of IT within the Engineering organization. This position is unique in that it is responsible for coordinating the IT needs of Owls product engineering group with the more traditional corporate IT division. In this position you will work closely with software engineers, test engineers, and devops engineers to understand and improve the way they utilize technology in a highly secure unclassified environment. This is a director level IT position focused on ensuring the success of our engineers who often face unique IT challenges.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in and maintain CMMC 2.0 / NIST 800-171 compliance.
  • Evaluate, monitor, maintain and improve systems critical to the engineering organization.
  • Coordinate changes between IT and Engineering to minimize impact and downtime.
  • Research and recommend new technologies and solutions that can improve the company’s IT operations, security posture, and capabilities.
  • Lead and coordinate IT projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and successful delivery.

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT management, project management, or related role.
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in the Information Technology field.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Proven experience in leading and managing IT teams, projects, and operations.
    • In-depth knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, network, security, and software development.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, and Windows Server administration.
    • Experience with implementing best practice cyber security solutions.
    • Familiarity with various IT frameworks, standards, and methodologies.
    • Proficiency in various IT tools, applications, and platforms.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and priorities.
    • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and requirements.
    • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
    • Experience with Linux.
  • Additional Competencies/Requirements
    • Willingness to travel when needed between Owls 3 locations in CT, MD, and NC. (<20% travel).
    • US Citizen.
    • Secret security clearance (or willingness to obtain)
    • Experience working in a software engineering centric organization.
    • Experience building and maintaining air gapped environments.
    • Experience deploying and maintaining CSFC compliant systems.
    • Understanding of modern devops tools and processes.
