Job Summary:
The Software Engineering Manager will lead a set of software development teams and technical leads that specify, design, develop, integrate, test, verify and deploy software systems in accordance with market and customer requirements. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Engineering Manager who is passionate about developing and empowering the next generation of technical leadership. The Software Engineering Manager will work with the team, and particularly their technical leads, to create new and/or maintain Owl’s software architecture and applications. Working with team members, this role will ensure the consistency of Owl’s software development practices. These practices are based on guidelines, such as those provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (e.g., NIST 800-53, USGCB), DoD’s Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and the Center for Internet Security (CIS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with senior management to plan and prioritize projects consistent with business requirements.
- Mentor, train, lead and develop team members, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for skills development and career advancement.
- With technical leads, manage engineering team development schedule. Ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and fully tested.
- Maintain overall resource management plan and assign resources to development teams.
- Collaborate with product management to establish product roadmap, provide time and feasibility estimates, and establish applicable product requirements.
- Provide staffing, schedule, and estimate responses for new proposals.
- Maintain organizational (ISO9001, AS9100, CMMC, RTB) compliance.
- Facilitate communications across teams, providing project status and prioritization according to effort and company goals.
- Define and communicate project milestones and resource allocation to executive team, and department leads.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Education
- BS in related technical field (e.g. engineering, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent).
- Experience
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering development, including at least 2 years as project team lead.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience with secure software development principles
- Knowledge of Linux/BSD kernel, drivers and systems administration
- Additional Competencies/Requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be eligible for a security clearance; existing security clearance preferred, but not required
